April 23, 2024 – Huntersville, NC – Boruff Violin Studio is thrilled to announce that William Hagen will be joining us as a guest artist and instructor for a public masterclass on May 31, 2024, student workshops, and our annual Young Artists Chamber Concert on June 1, 2024. A former prizewinner at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, Mr. Hagen performs as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician across the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, appearing with the Chicago Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Detroit Symphony, Frankfurt Radio Symphony (HR Sinfonieorchester), San Francisco Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Utah Symphony, and many others around the globe. On Friday, May 31 at 6:30pm, Mr. Hagen will be sharing his expertise in a masterclass in the Rafters at Historic St. Marks, featuring performances by several talented students in our studio. This event is free and open to the public. We encourage all students, musicians, and music-lovers in our local community to join us for this fantastic educational showcase in a breathtaking venue with the opportunity to learn from one of the most acclaimed violinists of our time! On Saturday, June 1, William will visit our Summer Workshops to work with a wide variety of students from our studio. That evening at 6:30pm, Boruff Violin Studio will host its annual Young Artists Chamber Concert, showcasing some of the most talented young string musicians from across the Charlotte region. We are excited to have Mr. Hagen coach each young artist quartet and trio as well as perform himself along with pianist, Dr. Tomasz Robak. The concert will take place in the Rafters at Historic St. Mark’s, a stunning venue with exceptional acoustics, and will feature a diverse program of chamber music, including string quartets and trios.
