ABOUT US

Boruff Violin Studio is a premier, violin-exclusive lesson studio offering violin lessons for the greater Charlotte, North Carolina area and is one of the largest studios of its kind in the region. Our goal is to help others learn how to enjoy music, specifically by playing the violin; and we are absolutely committed to helping our students set and achieve their own goals. We love guiding our students on their journey to success, whether it be learning how to play a favorite song, winning a competition, or getting that spot in an orchestra. Our students come to us from all over the Charlotte and Lake Norman region, including Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, Concord, Harrisburg, Mint Hill, Matthews, Fort Mill, Belmont, Gastonia, Lincolnton, and Denver, among others. We have successfully helped our students audition for the Charlotte Youth Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte Youth Symphony Philharmonic, Cornelius Youth Orchestras, CMS Honors Orchestras, and NC Western Region Orchestra, among other organizations. At Boruff Violin Studio, our teaching philosophy is predicated upon understanding the “why’s” before undertaking the “how’s” of violin technique. NO VIOLIN? NO PROBLEM.

It can be a bit overwhelming trying to find an instrument when you’re not sure what exactly to look for. You probably have seen great deals online, but you may have had doubts about the quality (which you should!). Well, problem solved! Quality violins are available for all sizes!

Each instrument is made of real spruce, maple, and ebony. No laminate or plywood involved!

The rental comes with a bow, case, and rosin to make sure that every student has everything they need from the start.

Every violin is personally inspected and individually adjusted to ensure that your instrument is ready to use right away.

After recently moving to Charlotte I decided to take up violin lessons again, I'm a very novice beginner. Eric has been a wonderful instructor, and is enthusiastic about what he teaches. He's very good at explaining the nuances of why and how you do certain things while still helping with the "big picture". My 7 year old daughter has been taking violin lessons with Eric for about 6 months now. I have really enjoyed seeing how she has progressed from knowing nothing about the violin to being able to play short songs that she knows. Most importantly, my daughter is excited every week to see "Mr. Eric." Violin lessons are a fun time for her. Even when her enthusiasm exceeds her ability to focus, Eric is very patient and we are steadily seeing the fruits of his teaching and her short daily practices. I would definitely recommend Eric to someone who has a young child interested in exploring the violin!

He is much better than former teacher 15-20 years ago. He is patient and I very much like the Suzuki method that he uses. I can sincerely recommend him to anyone. And I am 64 years old, so it's a little harder for me than a younger person. I do play other stringed instruments but they all have frets, which is quite different!
